Help our missionaries become better teachers
Our missionaries would love your help!
One of the ways our missionaries try to help our community is by teaching people about Jesus Christ. But like everything in life, becoming a good teacher takes practice. That's where you come in! We're looking for volunteers who would be willing to listen to a practice message from the missionaries and provide feedback afterward to help them improve their teaching skills.
Ask a member, or contact us to sign upWho are the missionaries, anyway?
On bikes, on foot, and maybe right in your own neighborhood, you've probably seen our young missionaries around Fresno. Usually around ages 18-21, these young men and women come from all over the world to serve here in our community! Their purpose is to help others come closer to Jesus.

What to expect at a practice lesson
What will happen
- A comfortable place: You and the missionaries will meet wherever you feel comfortable—your home, a friend's house, a public place, you pick!
- A brief lesson: The missionaries will practice teaching a 30-minute lesson about God, family, and Jesus Christ. They might ask to pray with you and may invite you to read a few scriptures with them from the Bible and the Book of Mormon. You can participate at whatever level you feel comfortable.
- A chance for them to improve: At the end of the lesson, the missionaries will ask for help evaluating their teaching. You can see the survey questions they'll ask you below.
What won't happen
- No donations: The missionaries won't ever ask you for money.
- No pressure: The missionaries are just there to practice and hear your feedback.
- No soliciting: After the practice lesson, unless you've agreed otherwise, the missionaries will leave you alone. There won't be follow-up phone calls, visits, or texts.
